News has many ways of been discovered. Print, television, radio and a majority of the Internet.  It is clear to see that news would not deliver to such an extent without the power of multimedia.

The Internet is unbelievable in that everyone has access to it from home, abroad, instantaneously from their phone, internet cafes, college, work; the internet is all around us and its growing and growing. There’s a vast range of media outlets in DCU from DCUfm to DCUTV along with other media outlets such as Twitter and News mediums online. One media outlet in DCU is Nuacht DCU which is put together by a large crew of news and technology enthusiasts.

The news is delivered on weekly basis online for DCU students to avail of there campus news. Producer Mícheál Mac Giolla Chearr is the man behind the scenes who makes everything come together along with a team of aspiring professionals. The News anchors comprise, Fran Mulraney covering DCU sport, Liam Redmond on weather, Aisling Brady and Eva Ní Shulleabhán as the leading anchors.   

Nuacht DCU has had viewership hits of over 300 views, the total viewership to date for the Nuacht is 1367 with only five news bulletin programmes put online so far this is an example of how powerful the internet is.  The Nuacht crew have major plans to increase viewership hits by using all multimedia sources available on DCU campus. With plans to promote it next year through the College View Newspaper and DCUfm, as well as using networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

The use of multimedia is vital for the transport of news. The way news is been exported through different means of sources is constantly changing and improving. With a huge change in the last decade of technology and the way its being used Journalist are ever more creative in their ways of delivering news, exactly what Nuacht is.
